The construction of this corkscrew makes it a sturdy and durable product that will last for years. If you are one of those people who struggle to open a bottle of wine in one smooth motion, this corkscrew is the perfect tool to assist you. However, it’s not just a tool; it’s also an excellent bottle opener for all wine connoisseurs. With its ergonomic handle that fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, this corkscrew, equipped with a bottle opener, will easily remove any capsule. It also features a stainless steel worm coated with a special non-stick coating that pierces the cork of your wines effortlessly. Remove any foil capsules from your red wine bottles in one smooth motion, thanks to its blade that cuts through them. This bottle opener is not only aesthetically pleasing but also very practical and will be a conversation starter at any wine tasting or meal with your guests! How to use a Laguiole sommelier corkscrew? Move the foil away from the neck of the red wine bottle, then place it on a flat surface. The foil capsule may not have a tab; in this case, use the built-in knife on the side of the corkscrew to cut around the foil to simplify opening. The double-hinged lever should then be extended to form a T-shape with the corkscrew’s worm. To ensure easy uncorking, place the steel worm in the center of the cork with your right hand and hold the bottle with your non-dominant hand. For most types of corkscrews, turn the worm clockwise while keeping it pointing upwards against the cork. Hook the first notch of the lever onto the neck of the bottle. Holding the lever against the neck with your left hand, pull the handle with your dominant hand until the cork no longer threatens to pop out. Then hook the second notch onto the neck of the wine bottle and repeat the extraction motion. The cork should move forward noticeably; this allows you to open the cork sufficiently thanks to the leverage effect.Gently shake the cork from side to side until it comes loose if it’s stuck in the bottle. Once the cork is removed, simply twist it in the opposite direction to pull it out of the corkscrew. If your cork breaks while you’re uncorking a bottle of wine, try reaching the remaining cork from different angles. If the cork is fully swollen or starting to crumble on your second attempt, remove it cleanly from the bottle. Then, pour the wine through three layers of cotton, a coffee filter, or even a skimmer to isolate any remaining bits before enjoying. Once uncorked, you can decant the wine into a carafe for aeration or pour it directly into a wine glass, using a spout to avoid wasting a drop of the precious elixir. Store opened wines in the refrigerator. This cold storage method will slow down oxidation, or you can use a wine pump. + Learn more
